On 8 March, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Teatri in Comune network will organize shows and meetings dedicated to women, with a special focus on female creativity and courage, lost loves and missed opportunities. In particular, the theater involved in the initiative are the Teatro di Villa Pamphilj, the Teatro del Lido di Ostia and the Teatro Tor Bella Monaca.
At the Teatro di Villa Pamphilj, at 11.30 a.m., actress, singer and author Monica Demuru will converse with some protagonists of the contemporary art scene in TINELLO - Conversazioni teatrali, a series of intimate conversations in which visions and courage intertwine, through the stories of different generations of artists who are redefining the spaces of creativity. Guest of the morning is Martina Badiluzzi, director, author and performer, winner of the “Biennale College Registi Under 30” call for entries of the Venice Biennale and author of an original and refined theatrical research. At the Teatro del Lido di Ostia, at 19:00, the courage of women in history is on stage: the company Attori&Tecnici proposes Le sfacciate meretrici. Donne del Risorgimento italiano, a show written and directed by Chiara Bonome, also on stage with Simone Balletti, Andrea Carpiceci, Chiara David, Elena Ferrantini and Maria Lomurno. Through the narration of some female stories, the shows pays tribute to the commitment of the women who during the Risorgimento contributed to the independence and Unification of Italy alongside and on a par with men.
The Tor Bella Monaca Theatre is hosting at 9 p.m. Nives: from Sacha Naspini’s novel published by Edizioni E/O, a performance by Accademia Mutamenti e Muta Imago, with Sara Donzelli and Sergio Sgrilli, with dramaturgy by Riccardo Fazi and edited by Giorgio Zorcù. The story of a woman left alone after the sudden death of her husband, in which two entire existences are laid bare, leading to a re-reading of events far removed in time and old grudges, discovering the abysses of lost loves and missed opportunities.
