25th World Congress of Philosophy

In the month of August, the XXV World Congress of Philosophy – Philosophy across boundaries is held in Rome, at the Città Universitaria La Sapienza, under the joint responsibility of Fisp, the Italian Philosophical Society and La Sapienza University.

The Congress constitutes an important meeting opportunity between the world's philosophical communities, which gather every five years in a different country to strengthen cultural relations, promote philosophical education and offer a contribution to the great questions of our time. In fact, it is a moment of scientific reflection, as well as the development of proposals on the present and future prospects of our societies.

This event, organized thanks to the commitment of the Italian philosophical community, aims to create the conditions for a profitable exchange between all those who study, practice and are interested in philosophy, overcoming any differences and obstacles. The philosophical perspective, therefore, is marked by the desire to include a look at the past reality, today's reality and its future developments, in awareness of the global difficulties and challenges that still remain to be faced.

The participation of students and young researchers from all over the world is also fundamental: in fact, an entire section of the Congress is reserved for them.

Among the other important philosophical congresses held in the past, we remember the one in Bologna in 1911 (the first ever took place in Paris in 1900, on the occasion of the Universal Exhibition), the one in Naples in 1924 and in Venice in 1958.
