The representations of the Nativity will once again be at the center of the International Exhibition 100 Nativity Scenes in the Vatican, this year in its 6th edition. Promoted by the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelization, the exhibition can be visited free of charge for the entire holiday season.
In keeping with tradition, the nativities are made with different techniques, styles and materials, from paper to cloth, cork to wood, come from all over the world and mirror different cultures and traditions. Each work is a small masterpiece made with passion and care, the fruit of the imagination and creativity of nativity artists and artisans. However, exhibitors also include amateurs, children, school children, national and international organizations, embassies, etc.
Making the exhibition even more impressive is the unique setting that welcomes visitors: St. Peter's Square and the grand colonnade designed by Bernini.
The Dicastery for Evangelisation (Section for Fundamental Questions of Evangelisation in the World) is solely responsible for the exhibition.
