MuseumWeek is an international project backed by UNESCO that has been promoting museum culture and art on social media platforms since 2014: it includes more than 60,000 participants from over 100 countries, and is considered to all intents and purposes the official international week of museums.
Also this year, from 5 to 11 June, the Roma Capitale Museum System is joining the event, sharing through its Twitter profile @museiincomuneroma historical, scientific and artistic content and news about the activities and life of civic museums. The guiding themes chosen for the 10th edition of the event are the preservation of the planet, the historical and social culture of food and the environmental repercussions of food choices, the health of the oceans, renewable energy, and the role of new technologies and museums, understood as presidia for the preservation and enhancement of natural and cultural heritage, in the defense of the environment.
A specific theme will be addressed each day of the week, with the aim of creating an opportunity for cultural organizations and the public to explore together the environmental issue in all its facets.
