One of the most elegant areas in the heart of Rome strengthens its position as a central cultural nucleus for the city and a privileged place for participation and enjoyment of the arts of the so-called 'Barberini District' with the initiative involving the Cinema Barberini and the National Galleries of Ancient Art.
The two institutions have, in fact, created a sort of 'twin ticket', starting a dialogue dedicated to the enhancement of the area, which had already begun with the 2022 MIA - International Audiovisual Market in Palazzo Barberini, hosted in the museum also for the 2023 edition.
From 15 May to 30 June, the historical movie theatre, which reopened in the autumn of 2022, offers the National Galleries of Ancient Art visitors admission at the special price of 7 euros for all scheduled films upon presentation of the ticket entrance to the museum.
At the same time, the Cinema Barberini spectators can visit Palazzo Barberini and 'The sovereign image. Urban VIII and the Barberini', the impressive exhibition dedicated to the great pope, a man of letters and patron of the arts, at a reduced cost of 10 euros with the possibility to visit the Corsini Gallery using the same ticket within 20 days.
The initiative was born on the occasion of the splendid documentary film Borromini and Bernini. The challenge for perfection: the story of the most famous artistic antagonism of all time and the story about the rivalry that Borromini had with himself, on display at the Cinema Barberini on 15, 16 and 17 May 2023.
