This year in its 47th edition, the Roma Jazz Festival is one of the capital’s most important international events. In November, it will once again enliven the city with a series of unmissable concerts at the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone and the Casa del Jazz.
Born in 1976 as part of the then Estate Romana events, in its long and exciting history the festival has seen all the greatest Italian and international performers on stage, from Miles Davis to B.B. King, from Pharoah Sanders to Jorge Benson, Pat Metheny, Ray Charles, Wayne Shorter and many others, trying to satisfy the different areas of the audience and to represent the various “souls” that have gradually enriched this language, a vehicle for unprecedented cultural encounters.
Directed by Mario Ciampà, the Roma Jazz Festival 2023 is realized with the contribution of MIC - Ministry of Culture, Roma Capitale and is produced by IMF Foundation in co-realization with Fondazione Musica per Roma. Once again this year’s high-profile programming will present both renown and historic international jazz masters and exponents of new urban sounds, with a focus on the new female avant-garde.
