The great artist from Pittsburgh is the protagonist of a remarkable free exhibition hosted at the Vaccheria, the new exhibition space of Roma Capitale, located inside the historic country house of the Castellaccio in the contemporary urban landscape of the Eur district.
The structure was born from the Eur - Castellaccio urban planning agreement. It has been completely restored and transformed into a cultural space to house the archaeological finds recovered in the southern Rome area.
The exhibition dedicated to Warhol summarizes a significant part of the production of a personality who has left an indelible mark on the world of art, music, cinema and fashion. Eighty works are on display, including serigraphs, lithographs, drawings, prints, iconic objects, records and magazine covers: from the Cows to Flowers and the Campbell's Soup Cans, from Liza Minelli, Marilyn, Liz Taylor to Elvis and Mick Jagger.
The event, curated by Giuliano Gasparotti and Francesco Mazzei, is accompanied by the exhibition Sacro o Profano ... ?, a selection of works created by 16 professional and self-taught artists showing a strong bond with the territory and its history.
