The duo Pasquale Stafano and Gianni Iorio present their latest album Mediterranean Tales at the Casa del Jazz. The album, inspired by the sounds and colors of the Mare Nostrum, has arrived in the recording studio following a long live tour, which saw the two musicians bring these "stories" all over the world, from Europe to Asia for more than 60 dates.
Mediterranean Tales is the result of a musical research that contains, in the six tracks, the infinite languages of the Mediterranean: in this sense the album is a sort of "travel notebook" that summarizes a wealth of musical and human experiences and which tells of sounds, crossings and departures along the coasts of southern Italy. Together, Stafano at the piano and Iorio at the bandoneуn, alternating the voices in a melodic and harmonic exchange, convey choral moments and more intimate expressions.
The pianist Pasquale Stafano enjoys an international reputation and records for the prestigious German label ENJA; while the great talent of the bandoneonist Gianni Iorio is known to fans of the Casa del Jazz for having performed there several times alongside Javier Girotto.
