The Empire of Dinosaurs is an exhibition project resulting from the work of the Paleontological Association A.P.P.I. in collaboration with the Botanical Garden Museum of Rome - Department of Environmental Biology of the University of Rome La Sapienza.
Thanks to this project, it was possible to develop spectacular models, very faithful to the animals that inhabited our planet several millennia ago. The reconstructions of the dinosaurs, all natural size, are based on the most recent discoveries in this field and therefore, in addition to the general public, the exhibition is also aimed at experts in the sector.
The exhibition allows us to plunge ourselves in a past world, for a journey through time that goes from the Paleozoic to the Mesozoic era, characterized by large reptiles, to reach finally the Cenozoic era. The Botanical Garden is thus transformed into a real prehistoric garden: palms, aquatic plants, bamboos and ferns are once again inhabited by the ancient rulers of the Earth. In addition to the large dinosaurs, other prehistoric animals also complete the experience, such as the mammoth and the giant deer, large mammals of the glaciations period.
During the exhibition there will be a series of technical and informative meetings, both with paleontologists, to present the most recent scientific research in the sector to the public, and with paleoartists, who reconstructed the ancient inhabitants of our planet.
