Magical, exciting, and surprisingly relevant: the great Christmas classic, inspired by E.T.A. Hoffmann's famous fairy tale, The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, is on stage at the Teatro Brancaccio in an original and contemporary version by Alessia Gatta and Manuel Paruccini.
The elegance of classical dance blends with the energy of contemporary choreography, creating a dynamic, powerful, and compelling experience: the classic fairy tale becomes an extraordinary portrait of the present, a blend of the tenacity of beauty, nostalgia, and the renewal of art.
The show tells the story of Clara and her family, who, on Christmas Eve, arrive at an abandoned amusement park that mysteriously comes back to life. The gates open, and the attractions light up, on a journey suspended between dream and reality to discover wonder.
On stage, 23 dancers from all over Italy, together with two soloists from the Teatro Real in Madrid, perform to the splendid music of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, played by a talented ensemble, in an intertwining of bodies and visions that celebrates the magic of an art which continues to reinvent itself through the centuries.
