The Spazio Risonanze at the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone is hosting its first marathon listening session of the complete works of The Beatles. From 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on 5 October, for a full eight hours, all 210 songs by the band will be played in chronological order, from their first single Love Me Do to The End, which closes the album Abbey Road. A true collective ritual, free and open to the public, who will be able to come and go freely throughout the day. During the marathon, hosted and curated by Gino Castaldo, several guests will contribute their reflections, anecdotes and interpretations to enrich the experience.
The marathon is not only an opportunity to relive, song by song, the musical adventure of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, but also an immersive and shared experience, capable of transforming listening into a collective celebration. It is a way to rediscover, through the power of the Beatles, the community spirit that music can generate. Getting to know and rediscovering the Beatles means getting closer to the roots of contemporary pop and rock music: for younger generations, listening to their entire oeuvre becomes a unique journey through the cultural history of the 20th century, the occasion to understand how their creativity influenced entire generations of artists and continues to speak with strength and freshness today. 5 October is a key date in the history of pop culture: on that day in 1962, Love Me Do, the Beatles' first single, and 007 – Licence to Kill, the first film in the James Bond saga, were released simultaneously. A double debut that would establish England at the centre of the world cultural scene.
The event is dedicated to Ernesto Assante, a well-known journalist and music critic, and a passionate connoisseur of the Beatles universe.
