An event organized on the occasion of the third ecological Sunday of the 2024-2025 winter season to rediscover the city by walking and to promote the Jubilee Ways that over the centuries have led pilgrims from all over the world to Rome and to St Peter’s Basilica.
In the three separate appointments on Sunday 26 January it will be possible to walk the last stages of historic religious itineraries: the Francigena of the North, departing from Monte Mario station at 8.30 am and walking along the Via Trionfale, with a stop at the small church of San Lazzaro in Borgo; the Francigena of the South, departing at 8.30 am at the Info Point in Santa Maria delle Mole and walking along the Via Appia; the Way of St Francis departing from Piazza Sempione at 8.30 am.
All walkers will converge at 3 pm at the Auditorium in Via della Conciliazione to then cross together the Holy Door at St Peter’s Square at 4 pm and participate in the Pilgrim’s Mass.
