ITA Airways inaugurated the new route to the United Arab Emirates with a daily direct flight from Rome Fiumicino Airport to Dubai, marking a significant step in the expansion of the airline's international network. From 27 October 2024, Dubai will be directly connected: a destination with a unique charm in its mix of tradition and modernity, innovation and luxury.
The official ceremony took place at Terminal E of Rome Leonardo da Vinci Airport, in the presence of important institutional representatives, including Emiliana Limosani, Chief Commercial Officer of ITA Airways and CEO of Volare, and Ivan Bassato, Chief Aviation Officer of Aeroporti di Roma.
The new direct flight from Rome to Dubai, operated with an Airbus A321neo, offers passengers the opportunity to reach Dubai quickly and efficiently, meeting the needs of those travelling for business or leisure. This direct connection consolidates the importance of Rome Fiumicino Airport as an international hub, with connections to other international destinations. The launch of the connection from Rome to Dubai also responds to the growing demand for flights to a destination like Dubai, an important hub for tourism and trade between Europe and the Middle East. The Airbus A321neo is configured in three classes: Business, Premium Economy and Economy. The new aircraft is designed to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by 20% per seat compared to the average.
In addition to the flight to Dubai, ITA Airways is preparing to launch new intercontinental routes for the winter season 2024/2025. Starting from November 16, the new direct connection Rome-Bangkok will be operational, with five weekly frequencies, while from December 20, direct flights to Malé, in the Maldives, will start. All the new routes are in line with the expansion strategy of ITA Airways, which has a total of 53 operational destinations.
