Just over 21 kilometers to run amidst Rome’s wonders, under the magical early autumn sky. The new half marathon in Rome is scheduled for the upcoming 20 October; it is organized by RomaOstia and RCS Sports & Events and its Title Sponsor is airline company Wizz Air.
The large number of foreign runners who have already registered confirms the strength and charm of Rome in the world. After all, its route will wind its way through the streets of the city’s historic center, starting and finishing in Via dei Fori Imperiali. It will cross Rome’s most iconic landmarks, such as the Colosseum, Piazza del Popolo and Piazza Navona, as well as lesser-known places, such as the Esquiline Hill and Porta Pia.
The Wizz Air Rome Half Marathon aims to be an event as inclusive and supportive as possible, with a fundraising project connected to the Half Marathon Relay, the relay race that accompanies the half marathon. Participation in the relay is possible only through one of the Non-Profit Organizations (NPOs) participating in the Rome Half Marathon Charity Program.
In addition to the half marathon and the relay, there is a non-competitive 5-km run and the Business Run dedicated to entrepreneurs from different sectors (craftsmanship, commerce, tourism and services, agriculture and industry). Entrepreneurs participating in the Business Run will be included in a special ranking, where the title of Italian Champion of Entrepreneurs and various categories will be awarded, both for men and women.
