Belcanto arrives in Rome’s suburbs to make culture and art increasingly accessible and widespread: thanks to an initiative of the Campidoglio, two areas of the VI Municipio, Ponte di Nona and Torre Maura (among the city’s youngest neighborhoods), are hosting two free concerts by the Opera House.
The first concert, scheduled for Friday 24 May in the Piazzetta of Parco Leonardo Sinisgalli in Ponte di Nona, will feature a performance by the 64-strong Opera House Orchestra with the solo voices that won the Rai Radio3 international opera competition “Voci in Barcaccia. Largo ai giovani!”.
The second concert takes place on Wednesday 5 June at 7.30 p.m., in Piazza degli Alcioni in Torre Maura, and features a recital of duets and opera arias with seven solo singers, plus two pianists who will alternate. Taking the stage are the young talents of “Fabbrica”, the Young Artist Program of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. The program is aimed at young artists between the ages of 18 and 30 coming from academies and conservatories. It has been active since 2016 and offers new Italian and foreign talents the opportunity to enter the world of performing arts, fostering the transmission of knowledge.
