ClicBus, Demand Responsive Transport starts from Massimina district

from 22 October 2024 to 31 December 2024

Roma Capitale has chosen the Massimina district to test the new on-demand public transport service ClicBus, an innovative system, free of charge and accessible to all, with no set route or predefined stops, to best meet the most diverse individual transport needs.

Coordinated by Riccitelli Bus on behalf of Atac, the service complements the area's bus lines to implement the transport offer within the district and to/from the Aurelia railway station.

The new ClicBus service, active every day, including holidays, from 5.30 a.m. to midnight, runs with three dedicated cars with a capacity of 8 seats and provision for 1 wheelchair per car for people with reduced mobility.

To use the service, simply book the desired journey, indicating the departure point, destination and time using the ClicBus App, downloadable on Android and iOS from the App Store and Google Play.

You can also book - between 5 a.m. and 11.30 p.m. - via the number 342 9509191, for journeys to be made no earlier than 30 minutes after the request and in any case within the next 24 hours.

In the event of inability to use the service, the reservation must be cancelled through the same channel used for the reservation (App or Call Centre) at least 60 minutes before the agreed transfer, in order to avoid disruption to other users.

To access the service, you can register by providing your personal details, mobile phone number and e-mail address.

The experimentation is part of the “Programma straordinario di intervento per la riqualificazione urbana e la sicurezza delle periferie delle città metropolitane e dei Comuni capoluogo di provincia” (Extraordinary intervention programme for urban regeneration and safety in the peripheries of metropolitan cities and provincial capitals) of the Bando Periferie 2016, to which the Metropolitan City of Rome responded with the project entitled “Una strategia olistica per la rigenerazione delle aree periurbane del quadrante nord-ovest di Roma”(A holistic strategy for the regeneration of peri-urban areas in the north-west quadrant of Rome) and Roma Capitale joined with Intervention 03 “Polo di rigenerazione urbana quartiere Massimina”(Urban regeneration hub in the Massimina district).
