A contemporary work of art that re-elaborates the theme of piety, that moment of maximum thoughtfulness and pain in which humanity has identified itself for centuries. Part of the project “A door to the Infinite. Man and the Absolute in Art “, within the cycle of Art and Liturgy, a new site-specific powerful and dramatic installation is exhibited inside the Chapel of the Crucifix in the Basilica of Santa Maria in Montesanto, known as the Church of the Artists for its historical link with the world of art and culture. Its author is the 34-year-old Jago, Jacopo Cardillo’s art name, who spent over a year in his workshop in Sant'Aspreno ai Crociferi in Naples for its realization.
Much beloved by social media users, Jago is a multifaceted artist who combines artistic talent and communication skills: he has a lively and direct relationship with the public, sharing online the different stages of realization of his creations. He has exhibited his works in Italy, the United States and China and his favorite medium is sculpture. His artistic research is rooted in techniques inherited from the Renaissance masters and he uses a traditional material such as marble to tell stories of our contemporaneity.
