Vinicio Capossela returns to the Auditorium to present his latest album Bestiale Comedìa (Bestial Comedy), in a concert that celebrates the 700th anniversary of Dante Alighieri's death.
Bestiale Comedìa, referring back to Dante's metaphorical journey into the afterlife, represents an itinerary in the musical and literary imagination to free the real world from the bewilderment in which it seems to have lost itself. A path fraught with dangers that, like Dante's, needs poetry and safe guides: in this case there are two exceptional musicians, the eclectic artist Vincenzo Vasi and the violin virtuoso Raffaele Tiseo. Like Virgil and Beatrice, the two musicians accompany the singer-songwriter-viator and help him find the courage to face this arduous task of dealing with one of the most monumental and universal works in the history of world literature.
The modern wanderer in fact, can only err in chaos, like a sailor without a sail and orientation of the stars: a lost in the dark and harsh forest of his own inner labyrinth, at the centre of which is the bestiality of the terrible Minotaur. In this descent, salvation is then represented by knowledge, which, like the Florentine poet, leads him again to gaze at the stars.
Considered the best Italian singer-songwriter of his generation, Vinicio Capossela has absorbed sounds and cultures from every corner of the world. Starting with intimate ballads inspired by Waits, he has enriched his musical and literary repertoire over the years, establishing himself as an original musician of great depth.
