Speciale Giubileo 2025 - tours and events by the Capitoline Superintendence

For the Jubilee 2025, a special program in Italian and English will guide tourists and Roman citizens in their discovery of the city’s immense archaeological, historical-artistic and monumental heritage. Over 1,300 new events will integrate the already rich program of didactic and educational activities devised by the Department of Culture - Capitoline Superintendence for Cultural Heritage in collaboration with Zètema Progetto Cultura.

In the city’s main museums (Musei Capitolini, Museo della Centrale Montemartini, Mercati di Traiano, Museo di Roma a Palazzo Braschi, Museo dell’Ara Pacis), at alternating weekends visitors are offered brief insights into the history and collections of the museums by expert guides. Two Fridays a month, it is also possible to access the Archivio Storico Capitolino, located inside the monumental complex of the Oratorio dei Filippini, designed and partially built by Francesco Borromini.

The “Viaggi nel passato - Journeys into the Past” cycle proposes visits to some important sites of historical interest, such as the Tomb of the Scipios, the Archaeological Area of the Theater of Marcellus, the Ostiense Necropolis, the Aurelian Walls in Via Campania and the Fontanone dell’Acqua Paola. Moreover, every Friday the walks in Italian and English of the “Itinerari - Itineraries” cycle lead us to discover historical parks, monuments and archaeological areas. There are also three new thematic routes: “L’acqua a Roma: il Parco degli Acquedotti - Water in Rome: the Aqueducts Park”, “I restauri del Giubileo - The Restorations of the Jubilee (Fountains of Piazza Navona, Sant’Angelo Bridge)” and “Oltre i confini: mura, porte e ponti di Roma - Beyond the Boundaries: Walls, Gates and Bridges of Rome”.

Educational workshops for adults and children, in Italian and English, will take place every Saturday or Sunday in the city’s civic museums. Finally, during the summer period, the cultural offer will be further enriched by evening walks (during the weekend) at the Imperial Forums and at the Villa di Massenzio, in Italian and English.
