Claudia Castellucci presents her new contemporary dance show inspired by the Znamenny chant, an ancient Orthodox liturgical chant - of Greek origin - which blends with the rural tradition of Russian music.
The show presents a primitive and intuitive dance, moved by the central idea of changing places, of going to other spaces, in the sense of acquiring a 'new habit' so as to achieve completely changed features.
The dance is immersed in a metaphysical atmosphere which is also attended by some elements of the Byzantine Choir of Aeterna Music of St. Petersburg; Thus dancers and singers find themselves together on stage, to crown a long experience of preparation within this centuries-old choral tradition of Eastern Europe.
Castellucci is a playwright, choreographer and teacher who has undertaken, for several years, particular studies on the circular rhythmic movement in relation to music, approaching the most archaic folkloric experiences which inspired her for this show as well.
With the dancers Sissj Bassani, Silvia Ciancimino, Guillermo De Cabanyes, Francesca Siracusa, René Ramos, Pier Paolo Zimmermann, the lights and scenery by Eugenio Resta and the technical assistance of Francesca Di Serio.
