Serata Benjamin Evenings

The three evenings dedicated to the internationally renowned dancer and choreographer Benjamin Millepied to music by Philip Glass, hosted at the Auditorium Parco della Musica, are held as part of the Equilibrio 2024 festival. The program includes Closer, a duet between a man and a woman, and On the other side, third chapter of the Gems trilogy, a reinterpretation of Balanchine's Diamonds, redesigned for the dancers of the Rome Opera.

Philip Glass (Baltimore, 1937) author of contemporary music, is considered among the leaders of musical minimalism together with Steve Reich, La Monte Young, Terry Riley, John Adams. Once the period of minimalist production ended, he chose a post-minimalist style, which is often inspired by the American symphonic tradition.
