The Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulia presents an interesting program of initiatives with the aim of making the museum spaces an increasingly accessible place thanks not only to art, but also to dance which, with the harmony of movements, stimulates psychophysical wellness.
The program includes meetings as part of the Dance Well Research and movement for Parkinson's, in collaboration with ParkinZone Onlus: the staff of the Museum welcomes a group of visitors to tell about one of the many fascinating aspects of the ancient Etruscan civilization or of the villa. This will be followed by a live dance lesson with Vera Borghini, Cinzia Franchi and Carlotta Bortesi, curated by Marinella Modugno, of the Educational and Accessibility Services of the Museum and the Parkinzone Onlus association.
Dance Well is an artistic practice set in places dedicated to art, which includes various rehabilitation strategies among those: aerobic exercises, motor imagination, cueing techniques and sensory-motor training, able of having positive effects on symptoms and on the quality of life of people with Parkinson's. The dance lessons are inclusive because they are also suitable for large categories of public such as family members, the elderly community over 60, citizens, students, asylum seekers and dancers.
The teachers focus their lessons on the development of skills through different approaches, techniques and styles of dance, but always in deep harmony with the places of art.
