A more than unique evening in the Sala Santa Cecilia at the New Auditorium, which sees as protagonists the giants of jazz music gathered together for an unmissable concert.
The four jazz musicians who perform on stage don’t need any introduction: the trumpeter Enrico Rava, the pianist Danilo Rea, Dario Deidda on double bass and Roberto Gatto on drums take the audience on a long musical journey upon the notes of traditional jazz, Italian songs and pop songs. Enrico Rava, first of all, is the best known and most appreciated Italian jazz player on an international level; appearing on the jazz music scene in the mid-60s, he quickly established himself as one of the most talented soloists. He has collaborated with famous musicians such as: Stefano Bollani, Joe Henderson, John Abercrombie, Pat Metheny, Archie Shepp, Daniel Humair, Michel Petrucciani, Charlie Mariano, Joe Lovano, Richard Gallliano, Martial Solal, Steve Lacy, Mark Tuner, John Scofield and many others. Danilo Rea, on the other side, after having graduated in piano at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory, made his debut in jazz music in the 1970s with Enzo Pietropaoli and Roberto Gatto himself, forming the Trio di Roma and starting a long collaboration with them. Rea also played with many Italian and foreign musicians, from Chet Baker to Lee Konitz, from John Scofield to Joe Lovano, from Art Farmer to Toots Thielemans, from Lingomania to Perigeo and Doctor 3.
Together with the drummer Roberto Gatto and the double bass player, arranger and composer Dario Deidda, considered one of the best Italian bass players in the world, the four musicians offer us an experience not to forget.
