The appointment with the Pitigliani Kolno'a Festival 2023 - Judaism and Israel in Cinema is renewed: now in its sixteenth edition, the Festival is dedicated to Israeli and Jewish cinematography. The cultural event is held in two different venues: from 19 to 21 June at the Casa del Cinema while the final evening, on 22 June, at the Italian Jewish Center Il Pitigliani.
Produced by the Pitigliani Italian Jewish Center and directed by Ariela Piattelli and Lirit Mash, the Pitigliani Kolno'a Festival 2023 offers, as usual, a heterogeneous programming of the latest Israeli production. The festival opens with Matchmaking by Erez Tadmor (PKF2023 Lifetime Achievement Award), a film that represents, choosing the comedy genre, a fresco on the world of young Orthodox Jews in Jerusalem who seek love, with the help of matchmakers of their life; among other films we point out also Savoy by Zohar Wagner, which tells the story of Kochava Levy, a young woman of Yemeni origin who acted as a mediator between the terrorists and the IDF while she was held hostage in Tel Aviv during the night of the terrible terrorist attack on the Hotel Savoy from 1975.
All films are presented in their original version with Italian subtitles.
