6th edition - International Festival of Artisan Panettone

The Salone delle Fontane hosts the sixth edition of Panettone Maximo, the national festival of handmade panettone and the largest national event dedicated to great leavened products, a not-to-be-missed appointment of the Christmas season. In competition will be 45 pastry shops and bakeries and 90 panettone cakes from all over Italy, as well as many Christmas delicacies such as nougat, chocolate, truffles, hazelnuts, wines, bubbles and spirits.

The best leavened cakes will be awarded by a super jury consisting of world pastry champions, leavening experts, chocolatiers and food critics. The special prizes ‘Best Packaging’, ‘Best Digital Communication’ and ‘Foreign Press Award’ will be awarded after evaluation by specific and competent juries; the ‘Audience Award’ by public voting.

New for this edition is the awarding of the prize for the ‘Best Gourmet Panettone’ from among the 10 competing candidates from a selection of haute cuisine and pastry chefs.

The final will be presented by Barbara Politi, professional journalist and national TV personality.

Also this year Panettone Maximo will present the eagerly awaited cooking shows with great pastry chefs from Italy's best restaurants, all awarded 3 Michelin stars, and with Luca Pezzetta, one of Italy's best pizza chefs.

In addition to around 200 types of panettone, both competing and non-competing, all available for tasting and purchase, the Christmas Market of food and wine excellence that can accompany the Christmas festivities awaits you.

The Christmas Village is instead the area dedicated to children, with games and entertainment by elves, lots of candyfloss and the presence of Santa Claus for the classic souvenir photo. The area can welcome young visitors, while parents can enjoy the peace and quiet of tasting and shopping.

Every year Panettone Maximo is also about solidarity. This year, the recipients of the panettoni donated by the Panettone Maximo confectioners will be the children of Don Daniele Masciadri, the young priest of the Nostra Signora di Lourdes church at Albuccione, in the municipality of Guidonia Montecelio.

Panettone Maximo's special guest will be UNICEF's Italian committee, the United Nations Children's Fund whose mission is to contribute to the survival, protection and development of the potential of every child, with special care for the most fragile and vulnerable. Unicef is inspired by the values of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, the UN Charter and the main human rights treaties.

Panettone Maximo is organised by E20 Events Factory and Ristoragency, with the patronage of the Presidenza della Regione Lazio and the Assessorato ai Grandi Eventi, Sport, Turismo e Moda di Roma Capitale.
