Latte & i Suoi Derivati Lillo&Greg

Latte e i suoi derivati

The zany rock group, with the two comedians Lillo & Greg, was born in the early 90s in Rome on the impulse of the drummer Paolo Di Orazio.

First collaborators in a publishing house of children comics Greg (cartoonist) and Paolo Di Orazio (coordinator of newspapers) decide to form a band of parody songs. The publisher unites Lillo (cartoonist) to Greg and Paolo, instructing them to lay the foundations for a demented comic book project. The works are interrupted by the closure of the publishing house.

The collected materials, however, already possess the characteristics of the future band. Lillo, Greg, and Paolo, unemployed, carry their work notes to the rehearsal room, involving other cartoonist colleagues, including the famous Passepartout (piano).

After some indecisions and a period of chaotic rehearsals, the group made its debut on 25 February 1992, at the Classico Village in Rome, on the occasion of the demented music festival Ugola d'oro, winning both the critics and the public's awards.

After a few weeks, the group enters the room to record the first album. The growing appreciation of the public spreads quickly, and soon it was the locals who proposed themselves to the Latte, who in the meantime hired the historical guitarist Fabio Taddeo.

The following year, Latte & i Suoi Derivati participated as guests in the 4th edition of the Sanscemo Festival, playing back one of their most famous songs, Alla fiera der Tufello.

Throughout the first season of the concerts, the group shares the stage with the poet-saxophonist-comedian Nico Ladispoli. After memorable triple participation in the television nightspot of Saluti e Baci of the Bagaglino, the group embarks on a busy concert activity.

The group keeps performing in various clubs in and around Rome, the Lazio region, and the Center-South, enjoying ever-increasing success and fame and gradually gaining a loyal and numerically significant audience.

In 1995-1996, the training merged with Attilio Corsini's Compagnia Attori e Tecnici and, in the same period, participated in the May Day Concert in Rome. In 2010, Latte & i Suoi Derivati performed at the Olympic Theater in Rome in the concert Shine a latte - World tour, ironically defined as "the first concert in 2D".

Other musicians, including a wind section, accompany the historical quartet (Lillo & Greg, Paolo Di Orazio, Fabio Taddeo).
