IPER - Festival of the Suburbs is back and, in its fourth edition, this year it presents itself in a new widespread guise, hosting different events in many places in the city.
The theme chosen for this edition is Rome and its transformations, those that concern the centre as well as those that affect the city on the margins. Through the comparison with Italian and international guests and observers, the Festival wants to offer new perspectives on the complexity of the city that is celebrating its twenty-fifth Jubilee.
The program includes meetings, talks, screenings and exhibitions involving different locations in the city, like: the Palazzo Esposizioni Roma, the Macro, the Casa dell’Architettura, the Casa del Cinema, the Teatro Ateneo, the Teatro Tor Bella Monaca, the Teatro Biblioteca Quarticciolo, the Società Geografica Italiana (Villa Celimontana), the Museo delle Civiltà, the MAAM, Piazza Tevere, Tor Marancia, the Quadraro. Among the novelties of this fourth edition is also the involvement of the Academies, such as the American Academies, the German Academy of Rome Villa Massimo, the Royal Academy of Spain and the Academy of Fine Arts of Rome, as well as many other institutions.
The Festival is organized and produced by the Museo delle Periferie (the Museum of the Suburbs) – Azienda Speciale Palaexpo with the patronage of the Department of Culture of Rome Capital and with the artistic direction of Giorgio de Finis.
