Iliad – The game of the gods

The show at the Ambra Jovinelli Theater Iliade – The game of the gods directed by Roberto Aldorasi, Alessio Boni and Marcello Prayer, takes us back to that archaic world dominated by inevitable Fate, by strength and capricious gods; a Homeric world that seems far from ours, but which in reality is much more similar than one might think: in fact, our life today is still dominated by fear, by the desire for wealth, by the presence of the enemy, by power and by all those devastating forces that plunge us into the irrational and make war possible. In fact, in both eras, all those aspects that lead back to the decline of the West in the Iliad as well as in the contemporary world are present.

In this sense, this rewriting of the Iliad constitutes a common thread that connects it to us, through the most ancient myths of Western poetry and to the war par excellence, the Trojan War, archetype of all subsequent ones.
