"All for one and one for all!": the Teatro Brancaccio hosts the new and thrilling pop opera, which, in a combination of music, prose and dance, brings Alexandre Dumas' famous novel to the stage.
Produced by Stefano Francioni and the Teatro Stabile d'Abruzzo, the show, in a new Italian musical version, is the compelling narration of the adventures of the French writer's legendary characters, united by an indissoluble bond of friendship.
Directed by artistic director Giuliano Peparini, an extraordinary cast of artists - including Gio' Di Tonno (Athos), Vittorio Matteucci (Porthos), Graziano Galatone (Aramis) - performs a timeless, cloak-and-dagger story, in which the good and the bad face each other, amidst intrigue, revenge, ambition and feelings.
The deeds of the Three Musketeers proudly reflect honour, loyalty and honesty, virtues often challenged by the modern world, and, at the same time, love shines through in the fated encounter between D'Artagnan and Constance, broken by Milady's revenge. The finale redresses the balance, even with a shadow of bitterness, perhaps because the heroes have shown a dark side or because death remains an unsolved enigma, making man helpless and insignificant.
