In Rome, at the Auditorium della Conciliazione (Via della Conciliazione, 4), the symphony orchestra I Virtuosi di Kiev will perform Antonín Dvořák's 5th Symphony From the New World. This is a further event in the cultural review Jubilee is Culture, in preparation for the Holy Year, promoted by the Dicastery for Evangelisation, and the first of the eight Jubilee Concerts - Harmonies of Hope. In his latest Symphony, the Bohemian musician Dvořák distances himself from his previous symphonic works and finds a less solemn and austere, freer and more innovative line of writing. The orchestra that will perform the pieces was formed by a group of talented Ukrainian musicians and is conducted by maestro Dmitry Yablonsky, a world-renowned cellist.
It seems logical to open the season of these Jubilee concerts with Dvořák's symphony, said H.E. Monsignor Rino Fisichella, Pro-Prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelisation and entrusted by Pope Francis with the organisation of the next Jubilee. From the New World recalls the theme of hope,' he continued, 'the same to which we are called by the motto of this Jubilee 2025. The Kiev Virtuosi, besides being extraordinary musicians, give us the opportunity to express a small gesture of support for Ukraine, a form of participation through the universal language of music. In the hope of a truly new world.
