The Grand Chapiteau hosts the Cirque du Soleil, returning to Italy with a new and evocative version of one of the world's best-loved shows.
A poetic and marvellous homage to Alegria, the great 1984 classic on tour until 2013, that throughout its history has captured more than 14 million spectators in 255 cities in 40 countries, receiving a Grammy nomination for its splendid soundtrack, and staying on the Billboard World Music Chart for 65 consecutive weeks. After almost twenty years, the timeless masterpiece is renewed in the arrangements of the famous music, costumes, choreography and astonishing acrobatic numbers, presenting a more contemporary and realistic version that is faithful to the heart and soul of the original show.
In a magical atmosphere, against the backdrop of a kingdom now in decline and without its king, Alegria - in a New Light is the story of the power struggle between the rigid rules of the old order and the hope and desire for change of the new order. It features extraordinary characters, such as Mr Fleur, the court jester who attempts to take the throne, the Aristocrats, the Angels, the Bronx, the Nymphs, the Singer in Black, the Singer in White and the Clowns, accompanied by iconic songs, including the moving Alegria.
