Christmas in the Museums 2023

Also for these holidays, the usual appointment with Christmas in the Museums returns, the cultural offer in the Museum System of Rome Capital which, from 23 December 2023 to 7 January 2024, offers visitors of all ages a rich and varied program of exhibitions and educational activities promoted by Roma Capitale, Department of Culture - Capitoline Superintendence of Cultural Heritage with the organization of Zètema Progetto Cultura.

In fact, throughout the festive period, it is possible to know and rediscover the heritage of the permanent collections, enriched by the temporary exhibitions hosted, both in the main paid museums such as the Capitoline Museums, Centrale Montemartini, Ara Pacis Museum, Trajan's Markets - Forum Museum Imperiali, Museum of Rome at Palazzo Braschi, Museums of Villa Torlonia, Museum of Rome in Trastevere, Gallery of Modern Art, Civic Museum of Zoology, and in small museums with free entry Giovanni Barracco Museum of Ancient Sculpture, Carlo Bilotti Museum – Orangery of Villa Borghese, Museum of the Walls, Napoleonic Museum, Pietro Canonica Museum in Villa Borghese, Museum of the Roman Republic and the Memory of Garibaldi, Museum of Casal de' Pazzi, Villa of Maxentius.

All Civic Museums are open on 24 and 31 December until 2.00 pm, and on 1 January 2024 according to the Capodarte programme. They remain closed on December 25th.

Entry to the Roma Capitale Museum System is always free for MIC Roma Card holders, with the exception of the Helmut Newton exhibitions. Legacy at the Ara Pacis Museum, Fidia at the Capitoline Museums, the immersive visit of the Circus Maximus in augmented and virtual reality Circo Maximo Experience and the shows of the Planetarium of Rome, for which a reduced ticket is available.
