The great ballet is back to the stage of the Teatro Olimpico with the Russian Classical Ballet performing in the masterpiece of the Christmas tradition, inspired by the famous tale by E.T.A. Hoffmann, Nutcracker and Mouse King.
Performed for the first time in December 1892 at the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg, the splendid composition by Pyotr Tchaikovsky tells the dream of a little girl during a Christmas Eve in the early 19th century.
The Nutcracker Prince, the Sugar Plum Fairy, Clara, the mysterious Drosselmeyer, together with toys, mice and soldiers, give life to a charming adventure against the backdrop of enchanted forests and bizarre kingdoms, to the notes of irresistible melodies, such as the Waltz of the Flowers, the Waltz of the Snowflakes and the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy.
The Russian Classical Ballet, directed by Evgeniya Bespalova, was founded in Moscow in 2005 to preserve the national ballet tradition. The company boasts a cast of dancers who graduated from the most renowned choreographic schools and artists of some of the most prestigious dance theatres.
