Palazzo dei Ss Apostoli

The palace was built by Giuliano da Sangallo from 1478 for Card. Giuliano Della Rovere, who later became Pope Julius II, with architecture typical of the civil buildings in Rome built from the mid-15th century onwards.

The large arched courtyards on columns bear frescoes, tombstones, inscriptions, classical artefacts and some interesting sepulchral monuments in memory of illustrious figures such as Card. Bessarione, Michelangelo and Leopold of Lorraine.

The cardinal's flat on the piano nobile has cosmatesque floors and frescoes.
