The Spazio Field in Palazzo Brancaccio hosts the photographic exhibition dedicated to wedding through the original, poetic, sometimes ironic and realist gaze of Franco Carlisi and Francesco Cito.
Curated by Giusy Tigano, Romanzo italiano (Italian Novel) presents 120 black and white images that give life to an extraordinary two-voice visual storytelling with an increasing rhythm and harmoniously deepen the emotions and relational and social effects of an event well-established in history and society.
Remaining faithful to their uniqueness, and despite working in different places, the two great photographers dialogue in perfect harmony, with lightness and sensitivity, abandoning the stereotypes of sector photography.
Franco Carlisi's majestic shots, selected from the project Il Valzer di un giorno, in the book of the same name with a preface by Andrea Camilleri, capture, with great strength and intensity, faces, glances, details, moments of celebration, tears of a bride, hugs, in a swirling, lively, deep flow of black and white rich in shadows and light.
From Matrimoni Napoletani (Neapolitan Wedding), winner of the Day in the Life 3rd prize of the World Press Photo in 1995, is the selection of shots by Francesco Cito: untied from the staticity and monotony of the typical photos by rite, the splendid images displayed reveal "the suspension of the ordinary" and the distinctive feature of the Neapolitan photographer.
Romanzo italiano is organized by the Milanese photographic agency GT Art Photo Agency in collaboration with SMI Technologies & Consulting Srl and the patronage of Municipio I Roma Centro. On Thursday, 12 October, starting from 6.30 pm, a musical performance by pianist and composer Davide Ferro will be held for the inauguration of the exhibition.
