Projections for 2023 indicate that the threshold of 3 million tickets sold will be surpassed, while last year, according to Assomusica, the association of producers and organisers of Live Music Shows, there were over 2 million, 500,000 more than Milan.
And 2023 is a record year for Rome, which rediscovers itself, as it did last year, as the top destination for major international events and the first city in Italy for number of concerts.
The presence of great national and international artists has been a notable boost for the image of the Capital, for the induced revenue generated and, consequently, for the city's economy, which has shown, and will certainly continue to do so in the near future, an enviable appeal in the eyes of those who come to Rome not only for its unquestionable beauty, but also to attend the performances of the most beloved singers and bands by fans of all ages.
Just to give a few examples, 60% of the audience of Guns 'n' Roses, Bruce Springsteen and other foreign artists came from abroad, preferring Rome to another destination precisely for 'that' concert, contributing substantially to swelling the ranks of tourists arriving in the capital to enjoy their favourite music, while at the same time taking advantage of the numerous services the city offers.
Obviously, great artists and groups do not arrive by chance. Upstream of their choice there is serious networking and impeccable organisation that have turned the past-years nos into convinced yeses: this is how Rome has become the queen of big events.
It is no coincidence that we were able to witness Travis Scott's captivating surprise performance at the Circus Maximus, and next year, Coldplay - already sold-out - will take the same historic stage.
Rome's offer is however wide in terms of attractive and unmissable venues for the big stars from home and abroad. In addition to the big concerts at the Circus Maximus, those at the Olympic Stadium, the extraordinary appointments at the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone and the Ippodromo di Capannelle have all been depopulated: perfect venues for unmissable performances, ideal for every musical genre, enhanced by the unique atmosphere that one can breathe there.
