With the conclusion of the second national test for Beginners carried out on the first weekend of May, the starting grid for the Trofeo Atleti Azzurri d'Italia was defined, dedicated to the Junior, Girls and Beginners C1 categories.

For the Junior and Boys categories, the best 16 divers are selected after the Christmas Trophy and the Italian Indoor Category Championships, using the ranking points obtained in these two events; in the event of a tie close to 16th place, the sum of the scores actually obtained in the race is calculated to select who wins the play-off. The same athletes are also qualified for the Italian Summer Category Championships, scheduled for July at the Foro Italico.
