The opera season at the Teatro dell'Opera ends with five performances of Georg Friedrich Händel's Julius Caesar in Egypt.

The show, directed by Damiano Michieletto, is co-produced with the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, Oper Leipzig and Opéra national de Montpellier and is proposed for the first time in Italy. Gianluca Capuano, a specialist in the Baroque repertoire, conducts the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma Orchestra.

On stage are three of today's most successful countertenors: Raffaele Pe in the title role, Carlo Vistoli as Tolomeo and Aryeh Nussbaum Cohen as Sesto. The part of Cleopatra instead is entrusted to the fascinating voice of Danielle de Niese.
