The choreographer Olivier Dubois is on stage at the Auditorium with his latest, explosive dance show Itmahrag, a neologism coined by the French choreographer, which derives from the Arabic word Mahraganat (festivals): in this sense Itmahrag wants to be an incitement to dance and song , a celebration, a party.
The word Mahraganat also indicates the musical style known as electro chaabi, invented by the new generation of Egyptians from the popular districts of Cairo, which invades the streets and parties of the youngest; a dance defined as "incendiary" by Dubois himself for its vital and pressing rhythm.
The show, with eight dancers and three musicians, is carried out in close collaboration with the B’sarya artistic center, an independent space in Alexandria that supports the younger generations of musicians and visual artists.
