Since the 1990s, an archaeological area in Via Diego Fabbri has been discovered during work carried out by the La Cecchina Consortium. It is a rustic villa from the Roman era, built in the first century BC and in use until at least the fifth century AD. The thermal quarter is still perfectly visible, with hot and cold water tanks, and the heating system is clearly recognisable, with suspensurae for the passage of hot air on the floor, and tubules for the passage of hot air on the walls. Baths and access corridors were richly paved in mosaic and marble.
