These small fountains are made of travertine and consist of a small shell-shaped pond resting on a rock, on which a branch of a figtree is sculpted. The water pours from the mouth of a theatrical mask. They were designed by the architect Raffaele De Vico who was responsible for the restoration of the Parco Nemorense, dedicated to Virgil, because it was inaugurated in 1930 on the occasion of the two thousandth anniversary of his birth.
