
The great international exhibition dedicated to fans of comics, animation, cinema and games is back at Fiera Roma.
Born in the autumn of 2001, Romics reaches its 34th edition with an extraordinary programme: four days in over 7,000 square metres of space and 350 exhibitors, ready to carry you into the fantasy universe with special events, shows, exhibitions, previews, and meetings with prestigious guests and industry operators.
Among the most awaited appointments is the Romics Cosplay Award, the spectacular costume challenge between cosplayers from all over Italy, which selects the best single cosplay, the best cosplay group, the best male costume, the best female costume, the best performance, and the Japan Garden Special Award, assigned in collaboration with the Japan Cultural Institute in Rome, and the Cosplay Kids, with which the kids can dress up as their favourite characters. The little ones can also enjoy many thematic workshops, interactive games and entertainment in the Kids&Junior Area.
Great space for Italian and international artists who promote and sell self-produced works in the Artist Alley, for producers of card games, board games and role-playing games in the Self Area Play, and self-productions of comics, art books and illustrated books in the Self Area Comics. Also back is Disegniamo il maggio, the contest combining comics and literature, in which artists can create an illustration selected for the promotional campaign of Il Maggio dei Libri 2025.
Big screen and TV are the protagonists of the Dubbing Grand Gala, dedicated to the best voices of national and international movies, animated films, TV series, and cartoons.
Lots of music with the eighth edition of the K-pop Contest Italia Special Romics, one of the most eagerly awaited events for dancing with the choreographies of the most popular Korean artists. Not to be missed are also the events celebrating special anniversaries: Buon compleanno Gundam - 45anni...45giri!, dedicated to the iconic anime; Willy, il principe di Bel-Air, for the 35th anniversary of the first episode of the series The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air; Buon compleanno Goldrake!, to celebrate the unforgettable robot. Videogame lovers can enjoy numerous activities - from escape rooms to puzzle games, from retro gaming to areas dedicated to free play.
Spotlights on the most famous Italian and international artists with the usual Romics del Fumetto Prize. The Golden Romics go to four artists: Barbara Baraldi, thriller author and editor of Dylan Dog; Oscar winner Hal Hickel, master of visual effects; Deanna Marsigliese, Pixar art director; Furuya Usamaru, cult manga author.
A great celebration for the 85th anniversary of Tom & Jerry - protagonists of the official Romics campaign together with Dylan Dog - and many special events on the programme: from the preview of Topolino in dialetto. Alla scoperta della storia in romanesco! to the Masterclasses and workshops with Italian and international authors and the Movie Village dedicated to great cinema and upcoming series, as well as performances, meetings, and news from the games universe with special guests, such as Jing Jian, Giorgio Vanni, Jakub Rebelka, Paolo Barbieri, Claudio Simonetti, Florent Sacré, Giovanni P. Timpano, CiccioGamer, Roby, Jenny, and LorenzIST.
On the schedule are also exhibitions ranging between art and imagination, such as From A Galaxy Far Far Away, more than 200 square metres of exhibition area with 30 rebel and imperial spaceships - some of them on 1:1 scale; Creare Creature Creative, dedicated to Deanna Marsigliese; Venti anni di Becco Giallo (Twenty years of Becco Giallo), with the most iconic covers in the catalogue; Avere vent'anni, celebrating the twentieth anniversary of the Comics and Illustration Course at the Bologna Academy of Fine Arts; Barbara Baraldi - L'arte del brivido e della psiche: da Dylan Dog ad Aurora Scalviati, between thriller, horror and comics; Omaggio a Furuya Usamaru. Shinjū - Una storia d’amore, dedicated to his latest masterpiece; Dall'odissea ai viaggi artistici di Paolo Barbieri, exploring the epic worlds of mythology, literature and fairy tales.
Furthermore, an exhibition area is reserved for Lazio companies and professionals to present their projects to the public - in cooperation with the Regione Lazio, Lazio Innova, Rome Chamber of Commerce, and Sviluppo e Territorio, Azienda Speciale Camera di Commercio di Roma. The collaboration with the Centro per il libro e la lettura Istituto Autonomo del Ministero della Cultura and with Roma Capitale Istituzione Sistema Biblioteche e Centri Culturali, which are sponsoring this edition, continues with the aim of promoting reading and improving book access services.
