The fountain leans against the left wall of the Underground (Metropolitana) Station in the middle of three large arches on the wall supporting the Velia Hill. It consists of a sarcophagus of the Roman age that rests on three steps and two travertine supports. Two winged putti are depicted on the side of the sarcophagus holding the togated portrait of the deceased in a medallion. Under the medallion there are two putti and small animals with two youths on the sides. Above the sarcophagus a lion head pours water.
