The Teatro Brancaccio hosts the evocative show inspired by the life and works of the brilliant Dutch painter, written and directed by Andrea Ortis and produced by MIC - International Company.
In a fascinating Parisian Café Chantant, the events of the protagonists - musicians, dancers and singers - intertwine with Van Gogh's tumultuous history by reading a book of letters between the artist and his brother Theo, giving life to a narration combining reality and imagination.
In an engaging blend of music, dance and songs, a cast of talented performers brings to the stage friendships, relationships, joys, melancholy and loneliness, accompanied by the extraordinary music of the live orchestra, recalling the songs of the most legendary French performers - Edith Piaf, Charles Aznavour, Mireille Mathieu, Yves Montand.
Van Gogh Café - Opera Musical is an original, immersive and sensory journey that, against the backdrop of spectacular 3D animated projections of the artist's works - such as Starry Night, Wheatfield with Crows, Sunflowers or self-portraits - and compelling choreographies, ranging from passionate flamenco to contemporary dance, takes the audience into the universe of dreams and torments of the great artist and the human soul.
