Seven years after the closure, you will be able to visit the Planetarium through a new cutting-edge technology that focuses on digital, on fascinating immersive experiences and appointments for audiences of all ages, thanks to which you can discover new ways to "look" at the universe.
Housed in the Museum of Roman Civilization, the new Planetarium displays a brand-new software that replaces the old optical projector, previously supported by a single digital channel projected on windows.
Now, the new digital Planetarium is characterized by an articulated system of high contrast video projectors, with 4K resolution, able to reconstruct with extreme realism the surface of Earth, Moon, and Mars and to go beyond, in the farthest places of the universe, between galaxies and nebulae.
The current database stores a large amount of data based on astronomical news and follows the discoveries of the scientific community.
To disseminate information and knowledge, the Planetarium of Roma Capitale provides real astronomical shows, realism, and at the same time immersive that, through an ad hoc audio system, allow you to interact with the "sky."
The reopening of the Planetarium also marks the resumption of activities and events focused on the transversality of languages, ranging from astronomy to history, from geology to art.
The redevelopment works also affected the atrium, the outer propylenes, the staircases, the coatings of the building, and the hall of the complex. The dome of the Planetarium has been cleaned and, for greater comfort, the armchairs have been replaced, while maintaining the circular layout to enhance the experience of the immersive "journey" and avoid the cinema effect.
