A new space for children and families at the Colosseum

Baby Pit Stop UNICEF Colosseo
24 August 2022

An appropriate place to stop and take care of your baby is furnished with comfortable armchairs, a sink, changing tables, and equipped with a play area. It is the new Baby Pit Stop realized inside the Parco Archeologico del Colosseo.

The space of two rooms, promoted by UNICEF, was set up with the collaboration of IKEA Roma that offered the furnishings made available to those who, during the visit, will need to breastfeed, change their diaper, or enjoy a moment of tranquility.

Located on the second level of the Colosseum, the rooms have a dedicated entrance. They are easily accessible, thanks to the clear signs and indications provided by the security and reception staff.

The Baby Pit Stop is a UNICEF initiative to guarantee the rights enshrined in the Convention on the Rights of the Child and Adolescence, in particular art. 24, which protects the right to health and is part of the UNICEF Programme "Nursing Partnership." To date, 31 Hospitals, 7 Communities recognized by UNICEF as Friends of Children, 4 Graduate Programmes recognized as Friends of Breastfeeding, and over 900 Baby Pit Stops are part of the UNICEF program in Italy.
