A new light enhances the beauty of piazza Farnese

Piazza Farnese
from 10 August 2021 to 31 March 2022

Piazza Farnese shines again after the maintenance and redevelopment work of the systems that illuminate its magnificent fountains, Palazzo Farnese, and the facade of the Church of Santa Brigida. Piazza Farnese, an authentic jewel of the Historic Center and a site of exceptional architectural and urban value, is returned to the Romans and tourists in all its splendor.

The interventions made it possible to replace the old lighting bodies with the latest generation LED lamps: 12 light points for each of the two fountains, four new lights for the lighting of Palazzo Farnese, and one dedicated to the facade of the Church of Santa Brigida overlooking on the square.

Furthermore, the fountains tanks have undergone redevelopment and cleaning interventions under the coordination of the Superintendency.

All interventions have always been carried out with innovative and sustainable criteria to combine energy-saving and livability. The artistic lighting has integrated with the functional one. The use of the latest generation projectors enhances the architectural features of the fountains and the square. The architecture of the lights harmonizes with the urban context.

Among the interventions carried out by Roma Capitale and the ACEA Group, we mention the artistic lighting of Piazza del Popolo, the Arch of Constantine, the Pantheon, Santa Maria in Trastevere, Porta Pia, the Borgo di Ostia Antica, San Giovanni in Laterano, Santa Maria Maggiore, the Dome of the Tempio Maggiore, Piazza del Campidoglio and the Valadier Tower of Ponte Milvio.
