The Ministry of Culture and the Basilica of Santa Maria ad Martyres, better known as the Pantheon, have signed the new agreement containing the regulations for the use of the Basilica.
According to the provisions of the agreement, an entrance ticket to the Pantheon complex of an amount not exceeding 5 euros is introduced, the proceeds of which are divided as follows: 70% in favor of the MiC and 30% in favor of the Diocese of Rome. The following categories are exempt from payment, as is already the case for museums: children under 18, protected categories, teachers accompanying school groups, while children up to 25 pay just 2 euros. Furthermore, access to the faithful remains free for participation in religious and worship activities.
The Ministry bears the costs of ordinary and extraordinary maintenance and cleaning, while the Diocese of Rome will use the resources for charitable and cultural activities and for maintenance, conservation and restoration of state-owned churches present in its territory.
