Some says the secret name of Rome is its palindrome: amor, love that wins everything. With the new initiative of the Lazio Region, Italians or foreigners who wish to formalize their love through a marriage or civil union can request a maximum €2,000 refund on money spent, provided of course that the event takes place in one of the magical and charming places of the city or region, by purchasing services or products from local businesses (e-commerce excluded).
The region has set aside a total €10 million with the aim of providing concrete help to both couples and businesses in the wedding supply chain affected by the health emergency. The refund can be asked for a large number of items and services, such as the purchase or rental of formal wear, wedding planners, venues, catering, flowers, car hire and photographers, even the honeymoon.
Applications for the refund can be made up until the end of January 2023, or until the fund runs out. Expenses have to be incurred through traceable systems in the period between 14 December 2021 and 31 January 2023. For more details, visit the official website.
