The Super Taranta show, which is part of the Roma Summer Fest calendar, is on stage at the Auditorium Parco della Musica. The Super Taranta Orchestra, directed by Antonio Castrignanò and Mauro Durante, brings together the most prominent personalities in the world of Salento pizzica, the voices, musicians and dancers who have made Taranta famous throughout the world. All these artists are gathered on the same stage, on the occasion of this evening, to give back to the public a thousand-year-old dance with an archaic rhythm for a great party capable of involving everyone.
In fact, especially in recent years, Apulian music has managed to emerge on the international artistic scene, winning important awards and above all, overcoming first regional, then territorial and finally cultural borders, with which it has been associated for many years.
The evening includes traditional songs, new arrangements, songs by Super Taranta, historical songs by Castrignanò, Canzoniere Grecanico, Enza Pagliara; and then serenades, ditties, love messages, lullabies, ritual songs, work songs and also songs of denunciation, in the name of high-level Salento popular music.
Super Taranta Orchestra is made up of: Antonio Castrignanò, Mauro Durante, Alessia Tondo, Emanuele Licci, Enza Pagliara, Giancarlo Paglialunga, Giulio Bianco, Federico Laganà, Rocco Nigro, Massimiliano Morabito, Maurizio Pellizzari, Giuseppe Spedicato, Silvia Perrone, Davide Monaco and Moira Cappilli.
